Last week, you saw part one of our exterior renovation - the paint and front porch stain decisions, the kids getting involved, and a little bit about why I needed my fellow designer Melanie Lobel to help with it all.Read More
After eight (!!!) years of pretty constant renovation, we've finally come to the last piece of the reno puzzle - the exterior design and installation. I know we've said before that we were near the endRead More
This season of Simple.Honest.Design has been full of design dilemmas revolving around big, blank, brick walls. It wasn't intentional but it has definitely become obvious that this is a problem that A LOT of people have. And this week is no different.Read More
If you ever wondered what I would consider the most challenging styling project would be - you'd think it might be the super rough ones - but you'd be incorrect.Read More
I've been covering mostly styling projects on Simple.Honest.Design, but this week, I'm changing it up a bit. Clay and Melissa Rankin are putting their house up on the market and asked me to help them with an objective opinion on what the house needed to catch the eye of potential buyers.Read More
I've practically come out of my skin having to hold on to this episode for so long before I could show you what I've been going on and on about. I've said some pretty extreme things like "its the best season ever by MILES" and "we went ALL IN this season". I may have to eat my wordsRead More
My heart hasn't been this far up in my throat in quite a while, and I get a little teary eyed just thinking about what has turned into the most incredible season of Simple.Honest.Design so far. Am I being dramatic? Maybe. But I don't really think so. I think my close friends and family will dig my current sentimental state of being because it's not my go-to emotion. Like, at.all. But MAN, when I watch this little thirty second clip (click on the photo below), I see a flash of all the hard work that so many people put in to make it the vision I've strived for since the day I filmed my very first episode (but let's not revisit it - it.was.ROUGH).
The video above - it's all of the dedication, hard work, joy, happiness, and professionalism that I tend to overlook during the day to day grind...and it's the things I need to be reminded of because this is the good stuff that keeps me going. To see the joy in a homeowners face to give them the design they've been waiting YEARS to complete, and to see the talent and dedication of filmmakers to their craft - it just makes me so proud of what this thing has become and so thankful for everyone who has stayed around to see it really thrive.
And this is just the PREVIEW. I just cannot wait to show you what we've been working on for months. Set your calendars - May 3rd - the very first episode of season 4 of Simple.Honest.Design will be waiting for you right here. I hope you love to watch as much as I loved making it.
